Experience Six Senses at Oaxaca, Mexico

Located in Oaxaca, Mexico, this project envisioned a luxurious Six Senses property immersed in Oaxacan culture, offering guests a serene retreat to relax and rejuvenate away from the pace of city life. The project features LUMAA, a fine-dining concept deeply rooted in Mexican culture, with a farm-to-table menu designed by renowned chef Carlos Gaytán, complemented by a craft cocktail experience brought to life through bar theatrics. The overall space reflects Oaxaca’s finest materials and local artistry, incorporating tapestries, Stucco and Chukum techniques, and a feature bar concept to create an authentic sense of place. The dining experience extends into an exclusive VIP concept, where projection mapping theatrics reveal the journey behind signature dishes, quite literally bringing the farm-to-table story to life on the very table where guests dine.

The design process began with understanding Six Senses as a luxury wellness brand rooted in sustainability, reconnection, and highly personalized guest experiences. Its strong sense of place, commitment to local communities, and emphasis on emotional hospitality became key drivers in shaping the project’s design direction.
The experience was developed with the brand’s core audience in mind—primarily 30–55-year-old luxury travelers, alongside younger wellness-focused and older affluent guests seeking restoration, meaningful experiences, and a strong connection to place. These foundations informed the design process that followed, culminating in a dining experience designed to awaken the sixth sense, creating a memorable emotional connection where dining becomes an experience, not just a meal.
